History

In 1943 the Finnish Air Force received its first 28 Me-109 G-2's, followed in 1944 by a number of G-6, G-8 an dG-10 aircraft. A total of 150 109's were delivered. The Fins used the Me-109 as a operational fighter until 1954.

The Finnish Air Force used the personal emblem of its founder Count Von Rosen, the swastika as its insignia. This had nothing to do with the use of the swastika by the Nazi party in Germany. After signing an armistice with the Allies in 1944 the Finnish Air Force changed its insignia to a white/blue/white roundel.
